Internal Opportunity: Junior Construction Project Manager (Entry Level)
An opportunity to grow with GRTR Building Group
As we expand into our newly announced restructure, we’re excited to offer a new career pathway within GRTR Building Group. We’re looking for the right person from within our existing team, crew, or subcontractor network to step into the newly created role of Junior Construction Project Manager.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already understands how jobs run on-site and wants to move off the tools over time, learn how projects are coordinated, and start building a long-term career in project management.

About the Role
This is a genuine support role, designed for someone who’s ready to grow into a future leadership position but first wants to learn, build confidence, and gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced senior team members.
You’ll initially report directly to the Construction Manager (Co-Director Craig Fischer) and work closely with the Site Manager and Estimator (both currently being recruited as part of our restructure). As these leadership roles settle in, you’ll gradually transition to supporting them more directly day-to-day.
You won’t be expected to manage jobs independently — your role is to assist, learn, and support.
You’ll gain exposure across a range of important project areas including:
- Scheduling and site coordination
- Materials and equipment management
- Quality control, site safety, and compliance
- Estimating research and project costing
- On-site communication and issue resolution
You’ll be backed by strong mentorship, practical training, and real career development opportunities.

- Provide day-to-day support to the Site Manager and Estimator, including regular job updates, schedule communication to trades, supplier communications, and forecast reporting
- Maintain strong communication across site, office, and trades teams
- Support the delivery of works to Australian Standards and the National Construction Code
- This role will involve a combination of office-based and on-site work

- Strong organisational skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
- A current driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
- A team-first attitude and the ability to jump in and help wherever needed
- A friendly, approachable nature and the ability to build rapport easily with clients, crew, and trades
